“Very soon I’ll be considered the baddest man on this planet”- Jon Jones teases massive return to the octagon

Millions witnessed the heavyweight showdown between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier last night at UFC 252. The UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones also had a close eye on the fight as he was very active on Twitter during the main event between Miocic and Cormier.

According to UFC President Dana White, Jon Jones may be returning soon to the octagon. The 205-pound champ hinted at a return predicting he would take home another UFC title if he moved up to the heavyweight division.

“Heavyweight world championships I will be seeing you real soon,” Jones tweeted after the bout, which ended in a unanimous decision for Miocic.

Here’s what Jones tweeted as the fight played out.

“Avoid Stipe’s right hand, I’m too fast, I’ll be too strong when the time is right and have way too much energy. Soon and very soon I’ll be considered the baddest man on this planet.”

UFC President Dana White address the questions at the post-fight conference stating that Francis Ngannou is the next in line for a title shot.

“Francis is definitely next,” White told reporters after UFC 252. “You can’t jump over Francis.”

“Francis has been out there destroying everybody, and if you look at how long ago it was that he got that title shot, he’s worked his way back,” White said. “It belongs to Francis Ngannou. But yeah, Jon Jones going to heavyweight is very interesting.”

Francis claimed his spot responding to Jon Jones. “Seat down and wait your turn, I got next,” Francis tweeted.

This is not the first time Jones has teased a heavyweight appearance. After winning the light heavyweight title for the third time and beating all contenders, Jones was ready to move up in weight.

The UFC and Jones were not able to agree on terms and he publicly announced he would sit on the bench until the UFC met his pay demands.

Sitting at home watching the main event, Jones seemed to have left that in the past and put his name in the hat once again to fight at heavyweight.

For now, UFC President Dana White might be ready to renegotiate with the champ. But if Jones does move up, it won’t be for the heavyweight title. That title shot will be going to Francis.

Miocic won the unanimous decision to close out the trilogy with Daniel Cormier at the main event at UFC 252. Who should Stipe Miocic defend his belt against next?
