UFC reveals the return to ‘Fight Island,’ new season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’

The UFC’s plan for the rest of the year is playing out perfectly.

At the Dana White’s Contender Series 32 post-fight news conference Tuesday, reporters asked UFC President Dana White about the upcoming trip to “Fight Island.”

White confirmed the UFC will return to Fight Island for UFC 253 on Sept. 26.

UFC 253 will be followed by three UFC Fight Night events expected to take place Oct 3, Oct 10, and Oct. 17.

The Fight Island trip will be closed out with UFC 254 on Oct 24.

White also announced the return of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

“We’re going to ‘Fight Island,’” White said. “They all have these big plans on how we’re going to announce all this stuff. ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ is coming back, too. I start filming that when I come back from ‘Fight Island.’ We’ve got the Contender Series. (There are) lots of things going on.”

White did not disclose the coaches for the next season but revealed a “TUF” meeting will be held later this week.

Dana White’s Contender Series will be placed on hold while the UFC is abroad.

“(Contender Series goes) on hiatus, until I get back,” White said. “I’ll be (on ‘Fight Island’) the whole five weeks.”

“It will be time-friendly (for Europeans),” White said. “It will happen in the afternoon here (in the U.S.).”
