Nick Diaz is targeting a return to the UFC, Conor McGregor responds

Nick Diaz could be making the walk to the octagon very soon.

Diaz’s manager, Keven Mebenga announced that Diaz has completed a 12-week diet and training camp.

It appears Diaz is doing a trial weight cut with plans to return early 2021.

This is Nick Diaz earlier today. He weighs in the 175-165 pound range, per his manager Kevin Mubenga.

He just completed a 14-week diet and training regimen. This is the first time he cuts weight in approximately four years, Mubenga said. Diaz wanted to do a test cut because …

he is keeping a close eye on the big welterweight fights coming up. He is “100%” planning on fighting again, per Mubenga, and is targeting an early 2021 return.

Diaz’s manager also revealed to ESPN that Diaz will be “keeping a close eye” on the welterweight division and the key matchups coming up between Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley Sept. 19.
Diaz hasn’t competed since January 2015 when he lost a unanimous decision to Anderson Silva.
His younger brother Nate Diaz is expected to rematch Jorge Masvidal early next year for the “BMF” belt.
Many fighters have already called out Nick. Darren Till offered to welcome back the Stockton native to the UFC.
He may have to take a back seat after Conor McGregor called out both Nick and Nate.
“Line them up,” he tweeted.
As of now, no official announcement has been made by the UFC but we remain vigilant on the return of one of the UFC’s biggest stars.
