Paige VanZant signs with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship

Paige VanZant was the hottest free agents in the world of MMA. Paige completed her UFC contract in July and entered free agency.

News broke moments ago that her next home won’t be in MMA promotion. Paige has signed a deal and is going to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

First reported by ESPN, VanZant posted a picture of her signing the contract to her Instagram stating she is “about to change the game” and promising fight news “coming soon.”

“I feel like I still have this stigma in MMA that I’m just a pretty face, and what a way to prove to be people that’s not the way I see myself at all,” VanZant told ESPN.

VanZant made it clear she was not happy with her UFC contract and complained she was underpaid for more than a year leading up to her last fight in the UFC. She argued she was underpaid for the amount of attention she brings to her fights via a large social media following. VanZant was also involved in several ventures outside the octagon including modeling, acting, and dancing.

In a recent interview, she claimed she would push off corrective surgery to return to fighting for a “comeback story.”

“In my mind, I’m going to go ahead and delete that last fight and start over,” she said. “I don’t know how long this negotiation stuff goes. I’m hoping quick, cause I definitely don’t have any injuries. I don’t even know if I got hit, so I’m ready to fight again.”
