Valerie Loureda celebrates new multi-fight contract with Bellator, celebration dance goes viral
Valerie Loureda is a 22-year old mixed martial arts prospect. Valerie is currently on a three-fight win streak in Bellator as a professional. Recently, she stopped Tara Graff with a second-round knockout.
Loureda made headlines following the knockout when her celebration dance went viral. Bellator later revealed its intention to build Valerie as a homegrown talent.
The promotion announced it has signed the undefeated prospect to a multi-fight contract extension that will span several years.
Loureda went viral once again when she posted a video on social media announcing the big news with a celebration dance.
“I am pleased to have re-signed with Bellator,” Loureda said in a statement. “As I have always said, I am here to show the world the true martial artist that I am and chase the flyweight belt. I was born for this, I am a natural born fighter.”
“Just signed an exclusive multi-year, multi-fight extension with @BellatorMMA not going anywhere,” Valerie posted.
Financial details were not released but Loureda expressed her excitement to continue to call Bellator her home.
The signing comes just two weeks after her win. Loureda faced critics who questioned the way she carried herself outside the cage and on her social media platforms. Many were calling the rising star just another “Instagram model.”
She was also judged and told how she should act on Instagram or Tik Tok, which didn’t sit well with Loureda.
“Let me tell you something: I’m a master in tae kwon do. I’m always professional until this girl,” Loureda said. “I can’t be professional with that girl when you’re telling me I’m being demoralizing to the sport. You know what? Look at all the girls who look like me, who dance, who wan’t to defend themselves, who are now going to be in MMA because I’m an inspiration and they’re not scared. That’s what I stand for, not what she said.”
With another win in her pocket, Loureda plans on carrying on with business as usual.
“I’m still going to post Tik Toks. I don’t care what anyone says,” Loureda said.
Bellator has not yet announced Loureda’s next fight.
