UFC President reacts to Conor McGregor teasing return

When it comes to retirements, fighters are the most difficult to predict. Fighters retire and come back all the time.

Recently, former two-division champion Conor McGregor shocked the MMA world by announcing his early retirement following disputes with the UFC. This isn’t the first time Conor has retired and came back.

McGregor took over the internet once again with just two words.  Conor tweeted “I accept” to two different challenges.

UFC President Dana White is a bit skeptical about whether Conor is serious.

Let’s take a look at the events that happened these past few days that led to Conor’s tweet.

UFC’s newest rising star Khamzat Chimaev attacked Conor on Twitter calling him out to fight. Following the callout, Conor responded with two words “I accept.”

The Russian then came out and told stories when he traveled to Ireland to beat up Conor and was stopped at the airport by authorities.

It seems as though Conor listened and both fighters want a fight. Right? Perhaps. Chimaev was not the only fighter to call out Conor.

Former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson took to social media to announce his return following his loss to current interim lightweight champ Justin Gaethje.

Tony also stated he would be interested in a fight with McGregor.

UFC President Dana White responds to Khamzat Chimaev vs Conor McGregor

Many media members claim that McGregor did not respond to Tony Ferguson since Tony never called him out personally. That would leave Chimaev as the only other option.

TMZ asked Dana White to give some insight into the situation. Dana White did not provide much feedback.

“Probably not but who knows?!” White told TMZ.

Chimaev vs. McGregor is far from happening. Chimaev is not a ranked contender and Conor is retired. Fighting an unranked opponent makes no sense for Conor.

On the other hand, if Conor fights Ferguson the winner will most likely get a title shot next.
