Jorge Masvidal losses cornhole debut, teases UFC return

UFC’s first and ever “BMF” champion Jorge Masvidal made his professional cornhole debut yesterday where he faced the cornhole champion Cody Henderson at the “grudge match.”

Although Masvidal was spotted 15 points, he came up short losing 21-15 in the third round.

According to Masvidal, he only recently started playing cornhole but will keep on practicing for a rematch.

“I’m going to keep practicing,” Masvidal said after the match. “I started playing maybe like three years ago at a barbecue and I loved it. It’s not something I get to do often but whenever it’s around, I play it. You couldn’t tell it by tonight.”

While the cornhole championship may not be in his future, the UFC welterweight title is.

Masvidal hinted at a possible rematch later this year against the champion.

“Hopefully, December/November,” Masvidal said when asked about his UFC future. “My opponent has a broken nose, he’s going to be out for a couple days due to me. He does have a broken nose.

“I think next week we’re going to find out just how long he’s out for and then we’ll start determining who will be the next fight and where.”

While nothing has officially been announced, Masvidal is teasing a welterweight title rematch against the champion Kamaru Usman later this year.
