Anderson Silva calls out Conor McGregor for a superfight at 176 lbs

Over the weekend, Conor posted a GOAT thread to share his thoughts on who the MMA GOAT is. He stated that Anderson Silva was the greatest fighter ever to compete, while himself was (for now) number two. Many fighters responded, including Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Nate Diaz.
Conor’s list included many of the greats Georges St. Pierre, Jon Jones, and Anderson Silva. Conor has the MMA GOAT as Anderson Silva but due to inactivity from Silva he placed himself as No 1.
Anderson responded to the tweet and calling out Conor,
“I have immense admiration for the great athlete that Conor is and I believe that a super fight would go down in the history of the sport, neither of us need to prove anything to anyone; I believe that fans of the UFC and of this sport would like to watch this great martial arts spectacle, it would be fantastic to test my martial arts skills against him!!”
Conor answered with a tweet of his own simply tweeting, “I accept.”
McGregor has alway been a proponent of fighting anytime, anyplace, anywhere, and at any weight. He has competed in three different weight classes but a potential superfight with Anderson Silva would be the fourth different weight class to compete in.
Anderson hasn’t competed since Silva he facedJared Connonier on May 11, 2019 at UFC 237 via TKO due to a leg kick that rendered Silva unable to fight. The 43 year old may be 1-6 in his last seven fights but he would undoubtedly still possess a unique challenge for “The Notorious”.
