Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov feud continues…

The feud between former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, and current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmangomedov has been ongoing for years.

The beef started back in 2018 when Khabib and his team confronted Conor’s training partner, Artem Lobov. During the altercation, Khabib confronted Artem and slapped Artem in a video that was released by his team.

Conor and his team retaliated months later when Conor and his team stormed the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Following the attack, a warrant for Conor’s arrest was issued after the video surfaced of him launching a dolly at the bus Khabib was traveling in.

The fight between the two was made later that year and Khabib came out victorious submitting Conor in the fourth round. A massive brawl broke out between the two teams afterward leaving many fighters involved with suspensions. The two have been feuding ever since.

The latest episode in the drama occurred on twitter.

Khabib’s teammate and cousin posted a meme of Conor comparing him to coronavirus.

Recently, Khabib’s father was in intensive care due to the virus and his condition was serious.

Conor responded quickly taking a jab at Khabib. “I figured it was all just a cover up about Abdulmanap. A cover up to hide the lack of activity and the pulling out of fights and running away. Good luck but remember – Allah sees all!”- McGregor wrote.

The post was deleted shortly after it was posted. Conor implies the condition with Khabib’s father was just a cover-up to avoid fighting him.

Khabib and his team have yet to respond. Will this spark the beef between these two again?  Perhaps a rematch may be on the horizon.

Conor announced his retirement from the UFC in early June. Many media members, fighters, and fans believe he will return to the octagon soon. Conor stated his retirement was due to the sport being “boring.”

“The game just does not excite me, and that’s that,” McGregor told ESPN. “All this waiting around. There’s nothing happening. I’m going through opponent options, and there’s nothing really there at the minute. There’s nothing that’s exciting me … I don’t know if it’s no crowd. I don’t know what it is. There’s just no buzz for me.

“I had my goals, my plans, the season. I had everything laid out,” McGregor said. “Obviously the world has gone bleeding bonkers at the minute. There’s f-all happening at the minute. They want to throw me up and down weights and offer me stupid fights. I don’t really give a f***. I’m over it.”

Khabib is expected to defend his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in September. Will, the winner of that match up to be next for Conor?

How long will the feud between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov continue?
