Sean O’Malley starts Twitter beef with Cody Garbrandt
UFC bantamweight rising star “Suga” Sean O’Malley has quickly become the man to watch in his division. O’ Malley is riding a four-fight win streak and recently defeated UFC veteran Eddie Wineland with a walk-off highlight-reel knockout.
O’Malley is looking to break into the Top 10 in his division and has targeted ex-champ Cody Garbrandt on social media. Sean is undoubtedly laying the groundwork for a potential fight between the two young superstars.
Garbrandt recently announced on ESPN his plan to drop down to 125 pounds to challenge the champion for a shot at the title. O’Malley was not too happy to hear the news.
Here’s how it all started.

O’Malley commented on the post with an emoji of a man running suggesting the move to 125 pounds is only to avoid him. Naturally, Garbrandt wasn’t going to let a young rising contender off that easy.

In two weeks, O’Malley will return to the octagon for the second time this year to fight a tough bantamweight Marlon “Chito” Vera.
