Conor McGregor Attacks Nate Diaz on Twitter

It has been a constant routine for Conor McGregor to tweet following a UFC event during the quarantine. Many times, his tweets have sparking controversy. Once again, Conor tweeted after the main event at UFC Fight Island.

The former two-division UFC champion is retired, but it is hard for Conor to stay away from the spotlight.

After big UFC fights, especially with fights in his weight class, McGregor has found a way to make things about him.

Following the main event between Jorge Masvidal and Kamaru Usman, for the first time, McGregor remained quiet.

On Sunday, Conor decided to “attack” rival Nate Diaz. Replying to Nate’s tweet, Conor told Diaz to ‘shut’ his ‘b****a** up,’ before deleting the tweet.

“Shoutout to Rose and Max they robbed max tho but 100 to the real fighters out there,” Nate tweeted. “Shut you b****a**up,” Conor responded.

Conor and Nate have an extensive history dating back to 2016 where Nate defeated Conor via submission in their first fight. Conor avenged his loss later that same year defeating Diaz via majority decision.

The two have continued their rivalry and it has often swung from insults to respect and back again.

Conor’s last fight was against “Cowboy” Cerrone where Conor won via TKO in the first round. He later announced his retirement earlier this summer after getting frustrated by the lack of options.

Nate took a two-year hiatus following the fights with Conor. He returned in 2019 to fight Anthony Pettis and Jorge Masvidal, the same fight that led to Masvidal’s win and the creation of the “BMF” belt.

Jorge Masvidal took the main event slot at UFC Fight Island. Following the five-round contest, Usman remained champion defeating Masvidal via unanimous decision.

Many believe a rematch with Nate Diaz may be next. Or perhaps, Conor comes out of retirement to fight either man?
