UFC raises the price for pay-per-views starting with Conor McGregor fight
Staring January 18, 2020, you will have to pay a little more to watch the long-awaited return of Conor McGregor.
ESPN will require a few more dollars in 2020. On Wednesday, ESPN announced plans to increase cost of UFC pay-per-view broadcast. The current price of a UFC per-per-view is $59.99. The new change will result in a $5.00 increase to$ 64.99.
The change in price comes after costs were initially dropped earlier this year to $59.99 after the UFC secured an exclusive deal with ESPN as their sole broadcast partner for pay-per-views.
All UFC pay-per-views will now only be available through the ESPN + app. New ESPN+ subscribers will be able to receive a 7-day free trial and a discounted rate when paying for UFC 246 with a one-year subscription to the Disney owned service for $84.98. The regular ESPN+ subscription without pay-per-view buy remains at $ 44.99 per month or $49.99 per year.
Following the seven-year deal with FOX, ESPN became the exclusive home for all UFC broadcasts in 2019. Later in the year the UFC extended the current $1.5 billion deal to include pay- per-views broadcast. The current deal is set to expire in 2025.
UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cowboy takes place in Las Vegas with the pay-per-view airing exclusively through the ESPN app.
