Colby Covington says Tyron Woodley is ducking him

The welterweight division is one of the hottest divisions in the UFC. Top contenders Colby Covington and Tryon Woodley have been lined up to fight for years. The long-awaited matchup between the two former teammates was expected to happen in Aug.

Colby Covington released a copy of his contract for the bout and said Tyron Woodley pulled out of the fight.

“This was supposed to be your main event August 22nd on ESPN until Tyrone did what his daddy should’ve and pulled out… AGAIN!” Covington wrote on Instagram.

“He gassed out against a fat school teacher the other night playing relay races on NBC, and I think the people close to him finally had a come to Jesus meeting about the suicidal tendencies he is exhibiting by wanting to sign a contract with my name on the other end of it,” Covington said of Woodley. “It’s a death sentence and he knows it, everyone knows it.”

Colby was referring to the recent appearance of the former champion on the reality competition series Titan Games hosted by “The Rock.”
